Our designers used Chief Architect software to develop detailed 3D architectural renderings, so the family could see exactly how their new first floor would look and feel. We also brought in physical samples of paint colors, countertops, cabinetry, and hardware, so every finish decision was made with confidence. The plan was bold: remove the fireplace, install 34-foot structural beams, and reconfigure the entire first-floor layout into one spacious, cohesive, and easy-flowing environment.
The existing cabinets were refinished in Swiss Coffee and Knoxville Gray, paired with champagne bronze hardware, giving this kitchen a fresh, elevated look without the cost of a full replacement.
The fully soundproofed music room, complete with acoustic paneling and wood veneer, gave this musical family a dedicated space to enjoy their instruments without worrying about the sound traveling through the rest of the house.
A deep green vanity, marble countertop, and brushed gold fixtures set against a dramatic floral wallpaper turned a forgettable bathroom into the most talked-about room on the main level.
The newly designed mudroom, finished in Oxford Sage cabinetry with honey bronze hardware, gave this family a proper place to land when they come through the door, with extensive storage solutions that keep everyday clutter out of sight.
Dry Bar with Beverage Fridge: The removal of the existing fireplace created the perfect opportunity for a sophisticated bar area with shaker gray cabinetry, honey bronze hardware, and a built-in beverage fridge.
Pantry with Classic Shaker Cabinetry: A dedicated pantry with classic shaker white cabinets added the organized storage this kitchen had always been missing.
34-Foot Structural Beams: Removed load-bearing walls and installed 34-foot beams to create the fully open central space the layout needed.
Custom Interior Windows: Black-framed interior windows between the mudroom and hallway bring light and visual connection across the reconfigured floor plan without sacrificing privacy.
New Hardwood Flooring: Consistent hardwood flooring runs throughout the first floor, unifying every room in the reconfigured layout.
Every inch of this first floor works now. The improved circulation, added functionality, and thoughtful storage turned a choppy, disconnected layout into a home that finally supports the way this family lives.
